- What DTS training is available?
Web Based Training (WBT) is available to anyone now. No training certificate or download is required. WBT is self-paced for new and experienced users and can be used individually or in classroom. WBT has been developed for travelers, Authorizing Officials (AO)/Certifying Officials (COs), Defense Travel Administration & policy and procedure guidance is available for local trainers ("TTT") who provide local sustainment training. A specified number of DTA personnel at each site will receive on-site classroom training (four days) during the Setup Period. The Enterprise Wide Training System (EWTS) is made available to each site after on-site training is completed. EWTS requires a training certificate and can be used by a site/organization to provide individual or classroom training. EWTS can be used to create test DTS documents (test/practice documents must not be created in the production system). A site/organization must prepare a strategy (training plan) to train all users and AO/COs. To view the PMO-DTS Web training page, go to http://www.defensetravel.osd.mil/dts/site/section.jsp?sid=4

What role does the Installation Management Agency (IMA) play in fielding DTS?
This answer to this question still requires coordination. The concept is for IMA to provide the Site POC for DTS as part of base operations. The Site POC is the person with whom PMO-DTS and DTS-Army coordinate when deploying and supporting DTS. |

Does using DTS save money?
Yes, it reduces the cost that DFAS charges the Army to process a voucher. The organization or site will not save money directly, but the organization that pays DFAS, the Army, will. |
